Centrifugal Broadcasters AMAZONE ZA-M 900 - 1200 - 1500 Setting Chart MH 438 DS 530 (D) 10.03 Before starting work, Printed in Germany please carefully read and adhere to the operation For all countries manual and safety advice.
Conversion to Imperial rates and measurements If you are still more familiar with the imperial rates of lbs/acres and of m.p.h. the following simple conversion system will be of converiance to you: To find the rate of lbs/acre deduct 11 % of the given rates in kg/ha (kilogrammes per hectare).

(spread rate) and not to the nutrient distribution (this especially refers to fertiliser blends). With your ownership of an AMAZONE fertiliser broadcaster you will have access to the „AMAZONE fertiliser testing service“ because we would like to assist you to operate in the most cost effective and environmentally safe way.

1. Store fertiliser properly (i. e. dry, separate by types and by manufacturers). 2. Set the machine according to the data of this setting chart or accoring to the recommendations by the AMAZONE fertiliser testing service. 3. Prior to starting to spread conduct a spread rate check.
2.0 Setting the mounting height Set the machine to the operating height in the field to be spread with a filled hopper exactly to the settings given in the setting chart. The mounting height is measured from the spinner discs front- and rear-edge each to the surface of the ground.
3.0 Setting the spread rate Take the shutter slide position directly from the setting chart - under consideration of the type of fertiliser to be spread, working width, intended speed of operation and wanted spread rate. The mentioning of (kg/l) refers to the bulk density of the spreading material.

4.0 Setting the spreading vanes The position of the vanes can be taken from the setting chart. When moving the vane angle towards a higher setting figure the working width will be increased. The shorter vane spreads mainly the inner and the longer vane the outer spread pattern. For some kinds of fertilisers (e.
Setting the working width The individual spreading characteristics of the fertiliser have a big influence on the working width. The spreading properties mainly depend on grain size, bulk density, sliding ability and humidity. Depending on the relevant kind of fertiliser the “Omnia-Set” spreading discs (Fig. 1) allow the setting of different working widths.
Advice for using the setting chart (example) Fertiliser: CAN 27%N granular Spreading disc: OM 24-36 Working width: Operational speed: 12 km/h Spread rate: 200 kg/ha Step 1: Take fertiliser or trade name from the setting chart. Eco border spreading and normal border spreading with Limiter M The spreading attachment Limiter M allows border spreading as well as eco border spreading if the first tramline is half the broadcaster working width from the field's side. The spreading attachment is switched on and off hydraulically.
Special advice for the application of slug pellets The standard spreader AMAZONE ZA-M can also be used for broadcasting slug pellets. Slug pellet material (e. g. Mesurol) is of granular shape and is applied at rather low spread rates (e. g. 3 kg/ha).
