EPSON Stylus COLOR 900/900N

1.3 Interface Specificatons

The EPSON Stylus COLOR 900/900N is equipped with USB, a
bi-directional 8-bit parallel interface, a serial interface and a card slot for
an optional Type-B interface. The EPSON Stylus COLOR 900N comes
with 10/100 Type-B Ethernet interface card already installed.

1.3.1 Parallel Interface (Forward Channel)

Transmission mode: 8 bit parallel, IEEE-1284 compatibility mode

Synchronization: By /STROBE pulse

Handshaking: BY BUSY and /ACKLG signal
Y
Signal level: TTL compatible level
Y
Adaptable connector: 57-30360 (amphenol) or equivalent
The BUSY signal is HIGH before setting either /ERROR LOW or PE
HIGH, and held HIGH until all these signals return to an inactive state.
The BUSY signal is HIGH:
Y
During data entry (see Data transmission timing)
Y
When the input data buffer is full
Y
While the /INIT signal is LOW or during hardware initialization.
Y
During a printer error condition (See /ERROR signal).
Y
When the parallel interface is not selected.
The /ERROR signal is LOW when one of the following errors occurs:

Printer hardware error (fatal error)
Y
Paper Out error
Y
Paper Jam error
Y
Ink Out error
The PE signal is HIGH when there is a Paper Out error.
