Preparing to Build ControlNet Trunk Cabling
ControlNet trunk cables may be purchased in pre-built lengths, or you may build your own. The
following installation procedures apply to building your own trunk cables, and also apply to the
modification or repair of existing (pre-built or your own built) trunk cables.

Materials needed
In order to build your own ControlNet trunk cables you will need ControlNet-certified trunk cable and
connectors, cable stripping and connector crimping tools, and test equipment to test the cables after
assembly. Honeywell provides the following to aid you in the construction of your own cables.
ControlNet-certified trunk cable ABREPLACE/,(TC-KCC900),/ABREPLACE available on a reel in
l
275 meter (900 feet) lengths.
Trunk Cable Connectors (TC-MC1BNC), packaged two to a set (one for each end).
l
ControlNet Coax Network Toolkit (9904-CTK)

Tools needed
To build your own or modify existing ControlNet trunk cables, we recommend you use the tools in the
ControlNet Coax Network Toolkit, model 9904-CTK. The tools in this kit are designed for use when
stripping coaxial cable and installing cable connectors. Other tools, such as an Ohmmeter and a Time
