    HD television) can be connected to either DTVLink port on the Symbio. Devices must be DTVLink-certified to send/receive encrypted content. To connect the Symbio AVHD recorder to the Toshiba integrated HD television: 1. Connect the AC power cord to the back of the Symbio AVHD recorder, and then plug the other end into an AC outlet or surge protector.

    Labeling the device The Device Initialization window allows you to change the label for the Symbio device. This label displays in the TV’s TheaterNet device list. The default device label is “Toshiba AVHD.” To keep the default label: Press x or • on the remote control to highlight SAVE in the Device Initialization window, and press ENTER.

    Before recording important content, make a trial recording to confirm proper connection and function of your Symbio AVHD recorder.     Controlling live TV After you connect the Symbio AVHD recorder to your Toshiba integrated HD television, set up the TV Guide On Screen system, and tune the TV to a channel, the Symbio automatically starts recording the tuned program. The Symbio will continue to record content up to 60 minutes behind the live broadcast.
