Before servicing, check the following:
• Make sure that the power cord is firmly
plugged into a live circuit with the proper
voltage.
• Check for a blown household fuse or circuit
breaker that has tripped.
• Make sure that the dryer vent is properly in-
stalled and clear of lint or obstructions.
• Check the connections before replacing a
component. Look for broken or loose wires,
failed terminals, or wires that are not pressed
into their connectors far enough.

MAKING ELECTRICAL TESTS

For any additional test beyond what is covered
in this Component Testing section, refer to the

COMPONENT TESTING

WARNING
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all panels before operating.
Failure to do so could result in death or
electrical shock.
• Check for wire connectors that are not
pressed tightly onto their terminals.
• Voltage tests must be made with all connec-
tors attached.
• Resistance tests must be made with the
power cord unplugged from the outlet, and
with the wiring disconnected.
• All tests should be made with a VOM (volt-
ohmmeter) or DVM (digital voltmeter) hav-
ing a sensitivity of 20,000 ohms-per-volt DC
or greater.
