Internal SCSI configurations (2-channel version)

2-channel version with onboard SCSI controller (standard)
Each channel of the onboard Ultra3 SCSI controllers is connected with six
internal hard disk drives (see also section "Upgrading second SCSI backplane
(1-inch HD subsystems)" on page 104).
For the accessible 5¼-inch drives, an additional SCSI controller must be
installed.
2-channel version with disk array controller/SCSI controller
The disk array/SCSI controller(s) are installed into PCI slots and each
connected with six internal hard disk drives per SCSI channel.
In this case, the connections to the SCSI channel on the onboard Ultra3 SCSI
controller must be changed to the disk array or SCSI controller(s).
A free channel on the onboard Ultra3 SCSI controller can be used for external
hard disk drives (optional: see also section "Upgrading external SCSI interface"
on page 109).
The second SCSI channel of the Ultra3 SCSI controller remains available for
the accessible 5¼-inch drives.
Supplementary channels of the disk array controller are available for external
hard disk systems.
