9.1

Write and Send an SMS

Press m in idle mode, scroll n to
SMS, and press o Select.
Write SMS will be selected in the
display. Press o Select.
The Write SMS screen will display.
Enter your message (maximum 160
characters) and press o OK.
The display will show Send to:,
prompting you to enter the number
that you want to send the message
to.
You can input the number directly.
Or
Press o Menu and then o
Select to open the phonebook.
Scroll n to the phonebook contact
you want and press o Select.
Note
Press c Clear to delete entered
numbers. Long press c Clear to clear
the entire entry and go to the
phonebook to select another number.
Press o OK.
• At this point you may be
requested to enter a box
number. (This is country
dependent) If so, enter the box
number and press o OK. (See
the note below).
At this point you have the options
to send the message or save it as a
draft.
Short Message Service (SMS)
To send the message: Press o
Select.
To save a draft: Scroll down d to
Save as Draft and press o
Select.
• If the message is successfully
sent, "SMS Sent!" will display
and then the handset will return
to the idle mode.
• If the message is not sent, "SMS
not Sent!" will display. The
message will be saved as a draft
and then the handset will return
to the idle mode.
Note
The purpose of the destination box
number is to make sure that the SMS will
be well received on the destination
phone. It is country dependent. If not
needed for your country, the product
won't ask for the destination box number
when sending an SMS.
The default box number is programmable
(country dependent) and you can change
it in the SMS settings menu under "SMS"
➝ "Settings" ➝ "SMS Reception" ➝
"Change Box Nr".

Inbox

The Inbox is where you read your SMS
messages. A submenu allows you to
Reply messages, Forward messages,
Save Numbers of messages, Delete
messages, and Delete all messages.
