tips
-
When you process a large quantity, we advise you not to put all the ingredients in the filter at
the same time. Start to process a small quantity and let the appliance run for a few seconds.
Then switch off the appliance and add another small quantity. Repeat this procedure until you
have processed all the ingredients. Always keep the lid closed during processing.
-
To get the best result when you make fruit juices and cocktails, add approx. 300ml water to
150g fruit. You can also use other liquids, e.g. to make cocktails.
-
Soak hard ingredients, e.g. soy beans, before you process them.
Juicer
You can use the juicer to prepare fresh fruit juices. Pulp, pips and skins are removed from the juice.
1
Turn the screw cap anticlockwise (1) and remove it from the motor unit (Fig. 27).
2
Place the pulp container on the motor unit (Fig. 28).
3
Insert the sieve (Fig. 29).
Always check the sieve before use. Do not use the sieve if you notice any damage like cracks,
crazes or a loose grating disc.
4
Put the lid on the pulp container and fasten the clamp (Fig. 30).
Make sure the lid is properly locked.
5
Pre-cut large ingredients into chunks that fit in the feeding tube.
6
Put a glass or jar under the spout (Fig. 31)
7
Select speed 2 to switch on the appliance.
8
Put the ingredients in the feeding tube. Push down the ingredients with the pusher.
Keep the pusher in the feeding tube as much as possible to avoid splashing.
Never use your fingers or an object (e.g. a spatula) to push ingredients down the feeding tube
while the appliance is running. Only use the pusher for this purpose.
9
When you have finished processing, set the control knob to O.
tips
-
If the pulp container becomes full during processing, switch off the appliance and wait until the
sieve stops rotating. Unfasten the clamp and remove the lid. Remove the sieve. Remove the pulp
container from the motor unit and empty it. Clean the sieve. Reassemble the juicer and switch it
on again.
-
You do not have to remove thin peels or skins. Only remove peels you would not eat, e.g. those
of oranges, pineapples and uncooked beetroots.
-
Always use fresh fruits and vegetables. They contain more juice.
-
Leaves and leaf stalks of for instance lettuce can also be processed in the juicer.
-
Remove the stone of fruit with large stones such as cherries, plums, peaches, apricots.
-
Apple juice turns brown very quickly. You can slow down this process by adding a few drops of
lemon juice.
-
You can use the pulp of carrots, beetroots, cabbage and spinach as the basis for soups and
sauces. Boil the pulp and add some herbs. Puree the pulp in the blender. You can use tomato
pulp to make tomato paste.
-
Firm fruits that contain a lot of starch, such as bananas, papayas, avocados, figs and mangoes, are
not suitable for processing in the juicer. Use the blender to process these fruits.
-
The juicer is not suitable for processing very hard and/or fibrous fruits or vegetables such as
sugar cane.
