If your favorite toothpaste includes peroxide, baking soda or other bicarbonate (common in whitening toothpastes), it is important that you thoroughly clean your brush head with soap and water after each use. Preparing for use Attaching the brush head Place the brush head onto the handle by sliding the ribs on the inside of the nut into the grooves in the top of the handle.
ENGLISH 45º When the handle is placed incorrectly in the charger, the charging light may still go on, but charging will not take place. The handles of other Sonicare models do not fit in this charger and will therefore not charge effectively. Do not attempt to force a handle into this charger, as this will cause damage.
After the 2-minute brushing cycle, you can switch the Sonicare briefly back on again to brush the chewing surfaces of your teeth. Press the on/off button to switch the Sonicare on or off as needed. To clean your mouth more completely, you can also brush your tongue with the toothbrush switched on or off, as you prefer.

ENGLISH Note: each of the first 12 brushings must be at least 1 minute long to properly move through the Easy-start ramp-up cycle. To deactivate or activate the Easy-start feature: Attach the brush head to the handle. Place the handle in the plugged-in charger. To deactivate the Easy-start feature, press and hold the on/off button for 5 seconds.You will hear 1 beep to indicate that the Easy-start feature has been deactivated.

Battery charge indication (specific models only). When the battery is running low, you hear 5 beeps after the 2-minute brushing cycle and the charging light blinks rapidly. When you hear the low charge indication, there are 3 or fewer 2-minute brushings left. Place the handle in the charger (with the on/off button facing towards the front of the charger) to recharge the appliance.
Remove the batteries when you discard the appliance. Do not throw the batteries away with the normal household waste, but hand them in at an official collection point.You can also take the appliance to a Philips service centre, which will remove the batteries for you and will dispose of them in an environmentally safe way.
