● Maximum charging voltage
● Maximum charging power during the complete charging process
● Current state of the vehicle
The charge column answers these by sending a ChargeParameterDiscoveryRes message.
This includes for example:
● Maximum charging current
● Maximum charging voltage
● Maximum charging power
● Minimum voltage
● Minimum current
● Current state of the charge column

Cable Check

In the Cable Check phase the check of the charging cable used (among other things the
insulation resistances) has to be initiated for the DC charge. The check is carried out by the
charge column and the result is communicated to the vehicle.
The vehicle sends a CableCheckReq message to the charge column. This initiates a
corresponding cable check.
The charge column responds by sending a CableCheckRes message.
This message exchange can be repeated several times until the Cable Check has been
completed or a fault has occurred.
2.4.7

Pre Charge

The so-called Pre Charge phase follows. In this phase the output voltage of the frequency
converter is matched as close as possible to the input voltage of the vehicle. This avoids
high inrush currents.
The vehicle sends a PreChargeReq message to the charge column.
This includes for example:
● Current state of the vehicle
● Target voltage of the frequency converter
● Target current of the frequency converter
The charge column responds by sending a PreChargeRes message.
