4.1 Installation steps
The following installation steps are described in detail in the subsequent
sections of this chapter:
Ê Transporting the server to the desired installation location.
Ê Unpacking the server (see next section
Ê Install the server in the rack in accordance with the layout arrangement created
by the system architect on the order lists (see section

Unpacking the server

CAUTION!
Follow the safety instructions in chapter
page 21.
If you need to lift or transport the server, ask for help, as this task requires
more than one person.
Do not unpack the server until it is at its installation location.
You should retain the original server packaging in case further transportation is
necessary.
Ê Unpack all individual parts.
Ê Check the delivery for any damage it may have received during transpor-
tation.
Ê Check whether the items delivered match the details on the delivery note.
The model rating plate is located on the left side of the server towards the front.
Notify your supplier immediately if you discover any transport damage or if the
packaging content does not match the delivery note.
