Gallagher 3E2301 B40 Portable Fence Energizer
BATTERY MANAGEMENT
Your Energizer can be used with either a 9V non-rechargeable or a 12V rechargeable
ba ery. The Energizer includes several automa c features to help extend ba ery
life and prevent damage to the ba ery.
These include:
Automa c Pulse Rate
When the ba ery has approximately 20% capacity remaining the Energizer will slow
the pulse rate and the indicator LED will change from green to red.
12V ba eries should be recharged as soon as possible.
Over discharge protec on (12V only)
12V ba eries typically have their life permanently
reduced if they are over-discharged. When the
ba ery has 10% capacity remaining, the Energizer
will turn off . The Energizer will turn on again
automa cally if the ba ery voltage increases
again (e.g. if a solar panel is connected and starts
recharging the ba ery).
This feature can be disabled by changing the
posi on of the jumper/link next to the ba ery
connec on pins.

12V Ba ery care and maintenance
• When the LED indicator changes from green to red, disconnect the ba ery and
recharge.
• Disconnect the ba ery when not in use for extended periods.
• Do not modify the ba ery connec on leads in any way.
• Do not recharge a 12V ba ery while the ba ery is s ll connected to the
Energizer.
• It is recommended that:
- 12V ba eries are recharged before storing away, and
- are checked and recharged every six months if not in use.
• Recharge in ven lated area.
