    Connections Tips Depending on your TV and other equipment you wish to connect, there are various ways you could connect the player. Use only one of the connections described below. Please refer to the manuals of your TV, VCR, Stereo System or other devices as necessary to make the best connections.

    Before Operation General Explanation This manual gives basic instructions for operating the DVD Player. Some DVDs require specific operation or allow only limited operation during playback. When this occurs, the symbol appears on the TV screen, indi- cating that the operation is not permitted by the DVD Player or is not available on the disc.

    Before Operation (Cont’d) Sound Digital Audio Output Each DVD disc may have a variety of audio output options. Set the player’s Digital Audio Output according to the type of audio system you use. DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM: Select “DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM” if you connect the DVD Player’s DIGITAL OUT jack to a Dolby Digital decoder (or an amplifier or other equip- ment with a Dolby Digital decoder).

    Before Operation (Cont’d) Parental Control Rating Movies on DVDs may contain scenes not suitable for children. Therefore, discs may contain Parental Control information that applies to the complete disc or to certain scenes on the disc. These scenes are rated from 1 to 8, and alternatively, more suitable scenes are available for selection on some discs.

    Operation with JPEG Disc Viewing a JPEG disc JPEG This DVD Player can play discs with JPEG files on it. Make sure the resolution of the JPEG files is less than 2 mega pixels (2M). Notes Depending upon the size and number of the JPEG files, it could take a long time for the DVD player to read the disc’s contents.

    Programmed Playback with MP3 or JPEG Disc Programmed Playback with MP3 or JPEG Disc JPEG Program allows you to store your favorite tracks/files (or files) for a particular disc in the player memory. Program can contain 60 tracks/files. Insert a disc and close the tray. The MP3/JPEG choice menu appears on the TV screen.

    Additional Information Last Condition Memory VCD1.1 This player memorizes the last condition for the last disc you have watched. Settings remain in memory even if you remove the disc from the player or switch off the player. If you load a disc that has its settings memo- rized, the latest stop position is automatically recalled.
