Trouble shooting

Symptom
No display
No tone
The icon
flashes
Base or handset

Tone is good, but

Possible cause
Batteries uncharged
Handset turned OFF

Keypad lock ON

Solution
Check the position of the
batteries
Recharge the batteries
Turn ON the handset
Check the telephone
cord connection
Wait until the other handset
hangs up
Bring the handset closer to the
base
Check the mains connection
to the base
Register the handset to the
base
Adjust the ringing volume
Adjust the dialling mode
(pulse/tone)
Remove the batteries and
but them back in place
Turn OFF the Keypad Lock
Change the flash time
Go to 'Control panel', and select
'Audio and sound devices' ->
select 'Speech' -> make sure both
playback and voice recording are
set to 'C-media USB headset'
Open Skype and select 'Tools'
-> 'Options'. At the 'Privacy'
settings, select 'manage other
programs access skype' and
make sure only Butler 4812 is
shown in the list
