Heating Element (inside) Before Using For The First Time Clean Kettle by boiling a Kettle of water, following instructions below. Then discard the water and rinse thoroughly with cold water.
To Boil Water CAUTION: Always make sure the Kettle is unplugged before filling the Kettle. 1. Lift the Lid and fill the Kettle with water above the Heating Element but not over the 1 LITRE MAX FILL line. 2. Always hold the Kettle level when filling. CAUTION: Always add sufficient water to the Kettle to ensure that the water level is well above the Heating Element.
To Boil Water (Cont.) 5. Once the water is actively boiling, promptly unplug the Kettle to turn it OFF. 6. Before pouring or moving the Kettle, unplug the cord from the outlet. Using the Handle, carefully lift the Kettle and pour the hot water.

To Clean Outside of Kettle It is recommended that you clean your Kettle regularly. 1. Make sure the Kettle is unplugged and has cooled completely. 2. Clean the outside of the Kettle by wiping with a damp sponge and a little mild liquid soap, if necessary.
