    Before You Use Your Coffeemaker Before preparing coffee in your new coffeemaker, thoroughly clean the carafe, carafe lid and removable filter holder and permanent filter in hot, sudsy water. For optimum coffee, buy whole beans and grind them finely just before brewing. Do not re-use coffee grounds since this will greatly impair coffee flavor.
