PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Power source
Ensure that the power source to be utilized conforms
to the power requirements specified on the product
nameplate.
2. Power switch
Ensure that the switch levers of main handle and sub
handle are in the OFF position. If the plug is connected
to a power receptacle while the switch levers of main
handle and sub handle are in the ON position, the
power tool will start operating immediately, inviting
serious accident.
3. Installing protector
Loosen the two M6×12 screws fitted in the base plate
and remove. The enclosed protector should be fitted
to the base plate using these two screws (Fig. 1).
4. Installing sub handle
Loosen the two screwed-in M6×16 screws and remove.
Insert the sub handle in the recess of the hedge
trimmer housing and, if necessary, slightly separate
the lower ends of the handle. To secure the sub handle
offer the two screws through the holes of the handle
to the threads in the housing and tighten (Fig. 2).
5. Extension cord
Use an extension cord of sufficient thickness and
rated capacity. The extension cord should be kept as
short as practicable.
6. Operating switch
To switch on the hedge trimmer, the main handle
switch lever as well as the sub handle switch lever
must be depressed. As soon as one of the switches is
released, the trimmer blades will stop immediately
(Fig. 4).
7. Quick blade stop
In order to avoid injuries through cuts, the blade will
stop in approx. 0.015 secs. when one of the two switch
levers are released.

8. Blade safety rail
The cutting blade set back from rounded edge re-
ception blade reduces the risk of the injuries due to
unintentional body contact (Fig. 5).
9. Impact protector
The extended holder plate prevents unpleasant shocks
(blade recoil) being transmitted to the operator due to
impact with solid objects (wall, ground etc.) (Fig. 5).
10. Gear protection
If solid objects are caught in the cutting blade and jam
the motor, switch off the machine at once, disconnect
the plug from the power receptacle, remove the object
and continue with the work.
The equipment is also fitted with an overload cut-out,
which protects the gears against mechanical damage
in the event of blade jams.
11. Notes on blade
As the blade moves reciprocally, do not allow it to
come into contact with large trees or lumber. Doing so
will cause the tool to move backwards, presenting a
hazard and reducing the service life of the tool.
