REQUIRED FOR THE INSTALLATIONS.
This is an unvented gas-fired heater. It uses air
(oxygen) from the room in which it is installed.
Provisions for adequate combustion and ventila-
tion air must be provided. Refer to Combustion
and Ventilation Air Section, Page 3.
Due to high temperatures, the appliance should be located out
of traffic and away from furniture or draperies.
Do not place clothing or other materials on or near this appli-
ance.

    VF4000-CMN-2 VF4000-CHP-2 VF4000-CMP-2 These heaters are manually controlled. Models VF4000-CMN-2 and VF4000-CMP-2 feature a gas valve incorporating a millivolt operating system. A spark ignition system (piezo) allows the heater pilot gas to be lit without the use of matches or batteries and permits operation of the heater during a power outage.

    Use the following equations to determine if you have a confined or unconfined space. 1. Determine the volume of space — ft Length x Width x Height = _____ ft (Include adjoining rooms with doorless pas- sageways or ventilation grills between rooms.) Example: 20' (L) x 16' (W) x 8' (H) = 2560 ft 2.

    Do not install in the vicinity of gasoline or other flammable liquids. The heater must be kept clear and free from these combustible materi- als and may not be located near where they are stored.     IMPORTANT: Ground lead must be connected to the green screw located on the junction box cover plate. Failure to do so will prevent the appliance from operating. The appliance must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70-(latest edition).

    After setting the logs into position as described above, ensure they are properly and firmly situated. The heater will not function as in- tended if the logs are not correctly positioned.
