Safety precautions
2. The maintenance and repair of the air conditioner must be
conducted according to the method recommended by the
manufacturer. If other professionals are needed to help maintain
and repair the equipment, it should be conducted under the
supervision of individuals who have the qualification to repair AC
equipped with flammable refrigerant.
Inspection of the site
Safety inspection must be taken before maintaining equipment
with R290 refrigerant to make sure the risk of fire is minimized.
Check whether the place is well ventilated, whether anti-static and
fire prevention equipment is perfect.
While maintaining the refrigeration system, observe the following
precautions before operating the system.
Operating procedures
1. General work area:
All maintenance staff and others working in the local area shall
be instructed on the nature of work being carried out. Work in
confined spaces shall be avoided. The area around the workspace
shall be sectioned off. Ensure that the conditions within the area
have been made safe by control of flammable material.
2. Checking for presence of refrigerant:
The area shall be checked with an appropriate refrigerant
detector prior to and during work, to ensure the technician is
aware of potentially toxic or flammable atmospheres. Ensure that
the leak detection equipment being used is suitable for use with
