Receiving Fax and Data Calls When your fax machine or modem answers a call, the Phonecell will decode the answer tone from the local device. This will cause the Phonecell to go to analog mode, regardless of which mode is currently set, to receive the data or fax. -

Of course, if you want to limit RF exposure even further than the updated ANSI Standard, you may choose to control the duration of your calls and operate your phone in the most power-efficient manner. - Page 21 Part 15 of the FCC rules.
