8.4 Earthing cables
This is how to connect a cable to earth:
➤ Strip 5 mm of the cable (x A, page 12).
➤ Use a claw cable terminal 6 mm in diameter and a crimp connection
(x B, page 12).
➤ Use a crimping tool to crimp the cable terminal to the end of the cable
(x C, page 12).
➤ Screw the cable terminal to an original earth point (x D, page 12).
8.5 Attaching a flat plug to the cable
➤ Strip 5 mm of the cable (y A, page 12).
➤ Use a suitable plug with a crimp connection (e. g. a tab sleeve)
(y B, page 12).
➤ Use a crimping tool to crimp the cable terminal to the end of the cable
(y C, page 12).
➤ If necessary, use a plug connector with an insulating sleeve (y D, page 12).
8.6 Connecting the power supply
➤ Connect the black cable to earth (terminal 31).
➤ Connect the orange cable to a switched power supply (terminal 15).
Make sure the voltage does not drop when the engine is started.
➤ Insert the plug of the orange and black cable into the socket of the
controller (6 2, page 5).
➤ Connect the red cable to a cable with a permanent +12 V charge
(terminal 30).
8.7 Connecting the display
➤ Insert the plug of the display cable into the display socket on the controller
(6 3, page 5).
