Depending on your model of the FS-1600 Series NAS, they come with either Areca ARC-1160 (FS-1600) or ARC-1261ML (FS-1610) Serial-ATA II RAID controller to support the Serial-ATA hard drives. -

Setting Up 2.1. When planning a site to house the Viking FS-1600 Series NAS appliance, you may want to consider requirements for power and network availability, as well as a space with well regulated temperature and humidity that is relatively free of dust and other airborne contaminants. If your installation calls for placement on a table top, apply the supplied rubber feet to the bottom of the chassis. -

The system nameplate rating should be used when addressing concerns about circuit overload. Warning Make sure that the site has the necessary capacity to handle the FS-1600 Series NAS appliance. Overloading electrical supply circuits is extremely hazardous. 2.1.6. Turning OFF the Viking FS-1600 Series NAS Appliance Do not use the power button to shut down the FS-1600 Series NAS appliance when powering down. When the appliance shuts down, all services running on it are forcibly terminated. Before shutting down the appliance, make sure no users are currently accessing the NAS. -
