2. Operation
The main motor driver circuit, which is contained
in the DC power supply
&
main motor driver, turns
main motor M 1 ON or OFF according to a command
from microcomputer IC208.

When the main motor is ON, the circuit detects a
signal generated by a tachogenerator in the main
motor unit. The tachogenerator measures motor
speed. Thus the main motor drive circuit keeps the
motor rotating at the correct speed. The tachogenera-
tor signals are changed into pulses and sent to micro-
computer IC208 in the DC controller. Microcomputer
IC208 use the pulses as timing signals when executing
a print sequence.
