Other Settings <CUSTOMIZE>
The CUSTOMIZE menu allows you to customize various
aspects of the control amplifier's operation.
p Video processor mode
DVD: PROCESSOR [OFF]
Initial setting : OFF
Lets you route the video signals to a video processor
connected to the PROCESSOR jacks on the rear panel.
• ON : Routes the signals to the PROCESSOR jacks.
• OFF : Set to this position when not using the video
processor, or if you do not connect a video processor.
p Audio split (AU SPLIT)
V:VIDEO3 A:CD
Use to switch the audio source. (Same as the AUDIO
SPLIT button on the front panel.) See "4 AUDIO SPLIT
button" on page 13 for details.
p Audio input mode (AU INPUT)
DVD: AUDIO [AUTO]
Initial setting : AUTO
Use to switch the input for the current component. (Same
as the DIGITAL/ANALOG button on the front panel.) See
"5 DIGITAL/ANALOG button" on page 13 for details.
p Digital input mode
DVD: DECODE [AUTO]
Initial setting : AUTO
Lets you specify the type of signal being input to currently
the selected digital audio jack. The settings are stored
independently for each jack.
• AUTO : The unit automatically switches between
MPEG, DTS, Dolby Digital (AC-3), and PCM.
• AC-3 : All input signals are treated as Dolby Digital
(AC-3) signals. If a MPEG, DTS, or PCM signal is input
to a jack set to AC-3, no sound will be heard.
• DTS : All input signals are treated as DTS signals. If a
Dolby Digital (AC-3), MPEG, or PCM signal is input to
a jack set to DTS, no sound will be heard.
• MPEG : All input signals are treated as MPEG signals. If
a Dolby Digital (AC-3), DTS, or PCM signal is input to a
jack set to MPEG, no sound will be heard.
• PCM : All input signals are treated as PCM signals. If a
Dolby Digital (AC-3), DTS, or MPEG signal is input to a
jack set to PCM, no sound will be heard. If a jack is set
to "AUTO", and a CD player or similar component
connected to that jack sounds interrupted when
playback begins, select "PCM" for that jack.
p Display dimmer control
DISP. DIMMER XXX%
Initial setting : 100%
Lets you adjust the brightness of the display window.
It can be adjusted in 1% steps from 25 to 100%.

p Output level
OUTPUT LEVEL [NORM]
Initial setting : NORMAL
Lets you set the output level.
• NORMAL : Standard preamp output level (1V).
• LOW : Lowers the output level to 250 mV (allowing you
to connect this unit's outputs to another preamp.)
p CONTROL A1 auto function
AUTO FUNCTION [ON]
Initial setting : ON
When a component connected via a CONROL A1 cord is
played, the power to this unit is turned on and the
function selector is automatically set for that component.
When you do not want linked control of connected
components, select [OFF].
p Remote control operation mode
REMOTE [2WAY ONLY]
Initial setting : 2WAY ONLY
Lets you select remote commander operation mode.
• 2WAY ONLY : If you select this mode, you can operate
the amplifier by the supplied "2 way remote
commander" only.
• 2WAY + 1WAY : If you select this mode, you can operate
the amplifier by the non-2 way remote commander
addition to the supplied remote commander.
We recommend to use Sony's RM-PP402
non-2 way remote commander.

You can program the remote codes of the non-2 way remote
commander to the ordinally learning remote commander that
is available in the market.

RM-PP402 is usually not available at stores. Please contact your
authorized Sony dealer or authorized Sony service center.

You can use 5.1CH button instead of LD button when you use
RM-PP402 in case of using this amplifier.
p Memory clear
MEMORY CLEAR [YES]
Initial setting : NO
To clear the memory, select [YES] and wait a few seconds.
"Are you sure?" is displayed. Select [YES] again. The unit
automatically turns off, and then turns on again. The
memory is cleared.
p Sleep timer
SLEEP X:XX:XX
Initial setting : OFF
Lets you set the control amplifier to turn off automatically
after a certain time. Simply select the how long you would
like to wait before the unit turns itself off. Countdown
begins automatically.
To cancel the sleep function, select [OFF] before the count
down is complete.
