The FDX 840 allows you within "Advanced Settings/ACR
Configuration" to enable calls to 09 numbers to be made
over the PSTN line. This requires a connection from the
line port on the FDX 840 to a working standard
master/slave telephone socket. These calls will be billed
to your normal PSTN line and not to Broadband Voice.

The Emergency Services (999/112)
Emergency services calls from a Broadband Voice handset
are ONLY possible if there is an alternative PSTN line in the
premises and it is connected to the FDX 840. The LINE port
MUST be connected to the PSTN and the FDX 840 MUST
be configured with 999 and 112 in the ACR configuration
menu in order for emergency calls to be possible.
(see the ACR configuration menu above). It is still highly
recommended that you retain and use the traditional phone
connection in the event of an emergency.
