Magnet Unit
Adjustments to the magnet unit are made to
I
ensure
proper armature sealing.
ADJUSTMENTS
l. Remove punch unit from machine.
2. Turn punch camshaft until interposer setup bail
is at lowest limit of travel.
3. Check .004" to .013" clearance between lower
side of armature and latch at both column-1
and column-80 ends of unit. See Figure 3-34.
4. Adjust magnet unit on punch unit to obtain clear-
ance.
a.
Loosen magnet unit mounting screws. See
Figure 3-35.
b. Loosen magnet unit adjusting lock nuts and
adjust screws for .004" to .013" clearance be-
tween armature and
latch.
See Figure 3-34.

The magnet unit locating screws hold magnet
unit against adjusting screws.

With interposers centered over their respec-
tive punches, tighten mounting screws and re-
check clearance between armature and latch.
REMOVAL
l. Remove punch unit.
2. Remove stripper assembly.
3. Remove interposer cover. See Figure 3-35.
4. Loosen magnet unit locating screws at each end
of punch unit.
5. Remove four magnet unit mounting screws. Do
not disturb magnet unit adjusting screws. See
Figure 3-35.
6. Lift magnet unit off punch unit.
7. Use a rubber band to keep interposers from
falling
out.
