Communication
Symptom
The unit cannot communicate with
Bluetooth devices.
The unit cannot be searched when
a new scanning is done.
Even if the unit and the Bluetooth
device are located within 10 m
(32.8 feet), the communication may
not be established or may be
interrupted during the
communication.

Cause and/or solution
• The exclusive modem card is not inserted properly.
c Insert it properly. See "Preparing the unit" on page 8.
• The size AA alkaline dry batteries are completely dead.
c Replace them with new size AA alkaline dry batteries.
• The setup of the AREA CODE switches is wrong.
c Set them up correctly. See "Setting up the unit" on page
10.
• The position of the TONE/PULSE10/PULSE20 selector is
wrong.
c Set it to the appropriate position. See "Setting up the
unit" on page 10.
• The unit is not searched when the BONDING/NORMAL
switch is set to NORMAL.
c Set it to BONDING.
• While the unit is communicating with another Bluetooth
device, the unit may not be searched or may not be able to
communicate with the Bluetooth device.
c Check whether or not the unit is communicating with
another Bluetooth device.
• The communication distance may have to be less than
10 m (32.8 feet) depending on obstacles between the
devices or on radio wave conditions.
c Change the location of the unit, or shorten the distance
between the Bluetooth devices.
• While the unit is communicating with another Bluetooth
device, the unit may not be searched or may not be able to
communicate with the Bluetooth device.
c Check whether or not the unit is communicating with
another Bluetooth device.
