4.4.4 Write Protect Sensor
MAX Media Jig (Jig D)
Disk Drive Power Supply
Refer to Figure 4-6.
Place the Disk Drive on its side, with the LED indicator downward and the
Front Lever upward.
Connect the oscilloscope (PC range at one volt per division) to the Write
Protect signal on the interface connector (pin-28).
Mount the MAX Media Jig in the position shown in Figure 4-6. Be sure that
is above the light path of the Write Protect sensor.
Move the Drive if strong external light is striking tile Write Protect sensor.
Make sure the Write Protect interface signal (pin-28) reads 0.5 volts or less
(with the jig at the notch
position) with Disk Drive power turned on.
Pull the jig out slightly, so notch B is in the light path.
Make sure the Write Protect interface signal (pin-28) reads 3.0 volts or more
(with the jig at the notch B position) with Disk Drive power turned on.
