10 Chapter 1: Introduction
Important
• 16 TTL user-defined input and 16 TTL user-defined output signals to control or
synchronize with other devices. These signals can be internally accessed, or
accessed externally using the Matrox Morphis QxT Digital I/O module.
• Video input testing. Up to four video signals can be routed to display devices (for
example, a TV monitor, computer monitor that allows composite input, or VCR)
for test purposes. The selected video signals are sent straight to a video encoder;
they cannot be altered.
Data transfer
Matrox Morphis QxT allows the transfer of live video to Host memory, off-board
display memory, or PCIe devices. Matrox Morphis QxT features an on-board
64-bit 133 MHz PCI-X bus master to reduce CPU usage. The data is then
transformed to PCIe before being transferred to the Host over the Host PCIe bus.
Note that transfer of image data to a display board or other PCIe devices might
require intervention from the Host CPU, depending on your computer's

When the term Host is used in this manual, it refers to the host computer.

have been made to the board since it was first introduced.
Software
To operate Matrox Morphis QxT, you can purchase one or more Matrox Imaging
software products that support the Matrox Morphis QxT board. These are the
Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) and its derivatives (MIL-Lite, ActiveMIL,
ActiveMIL-Lite, and Matrox Inspector). All Matrox software is supported under
Windows; consult your software manual for supported Windows environments.
1. Direct copies are possible if the display memory is physically accessible from
the Matrox Morphis QxT.
