The integer portion of the double-word operand specified by the first
address (R

and the first address plus one is shifted left the number of
positions specified by the second address (B

The first address (R
1 )
specifies an even-numbered register of an even/odd pair that contains the
63-bit integer to be shifted. The second address is used as a count and not
to
address data. The low-order six bits of the second address field constitute
the count. The remaining bits are ignored.

Notes
1.
All 63 bit positions of the integer are shifted. The sign bit (posi-
tion 0) in the even register is not altered. Zeros are inserted in the
right-hand end of the double-word operand for each shift.
2. If a bit is shifted out of the left-hand end that is not identical
to
the
sign bit, a fixed-point overflow condition exists.
