    Step 3: Performing the Quick Setup Follow the Steps below to make the basic adjustments for using the system. Note • When you connect the system and the TV with the component video cord (not supplied) or HDMI cable (not supplied), you need to set the type of video output for matching your TV.

The front of each speaker should face the calibration mic, and there should be no obstruction between the speakers and the calibration mic.

    Sound Adjustment Enjoying Surround Sound by Using Decoding Mode You can enjoy surround sound simply by selecting one of the system’s pre-programmed decoding modes. They bring exciting and powerful sound of movie theaters into your home. Press SYSTEM MENU. Press X/x repeatedly until “DEC. MODE” appears in the front panel display, then press or c.

    Selecting the Sound Mode You can select a suitable sound mode for movies or music. Press SOUND MODE repeatedly during playback until the desired mode appears in the front panel display. • “AUTO”: The system selects “MOVIE” or “MUSIC” automatically to produce the sound effect depending on the disc.

    To select a playback layer when playing a hybrid Super Audio CD Some Super Audio CDs consist of an HD layer and a CD layer. You can select the playback layer you want to listen to. Note • When the Super Audio CD does not have the HD layer, you cannot select the playback layer.
