Sony MAVICA MVC-FD83 Shortcut Manual

The Mavica is a remarkable camera, which has several functions. It may seem
intimidating but is very easy to use. The following is a sheet to guide you through the
very basic functions. For further explanations, refer to the manual, which came with the
Recording Still Images
1. Slide the power switch down to turn on the power (the power lamp lights up) and
insert the floppy disk, front of the disk towards you, until the disk clicks.
2. Press the large, round control button downward to remove the menu on the LCD
screen.
3. Set the PLAY/STILL/MOVIE switch, located below the LCD screen, to STILL.
4. Center your image in the LCD panel. You can us the zoom lever (located on the
rear, upper right hand corner of the camera) to adjust your image.
5. Press the shutter button halfway down. The button is located on the top, front of
the camera. The auto exposure light on the LCD screen will flash setting the auto
exposure, white balance, and focus.
6. When the green light stops flashing, press the shutter button fully down and the
image is recorded.
7. You can record about 8 – 12 images on one floppy disk.
Playing Back Still Images
1. Slide the power switch down and turn on the power (the power lamp lights up)
and insert the floppy disk containing images, front of the disk towards you, until
the disk clicks.
2. Set the PLAY/STILL/MOVIE switch, located below the LCD screen, to PLAY.
3. The ACCESS lamp flashes and the last recorded image will appear on the LCD
screen.
4. Press the large, round control button, upward and the menu bar will appear on the
LCD screen.
5. Select the recorded image with the control button by moving up/down/side, and
then press the control button.
6. The INDEX button will display six recorded images at a time.
7. The DELETE button will erase the image selected.
8. The FILE mode, when you move the control button upward, will allow you to
select the slide show option. In this mode you can view the images automatically
one after the other.
