Configuring e-mail

You use this function to set the SMTP server, sender name and e-mail account for e-mail
service.
Requirement
● You have opened the "Email" tab in the "WinCC Internet Settings" dialog with the
"WinCC Internet Settings" icon.

● Your system administrator has provided the necessary information for the setting.
Note
Additional tabs may appear in the "WinCC Internet Settings" dialog. This depends on the
options that have been enabled for operating the local network in the project.
Procedure
1. Specify the SMTP server.
– Select the "Use the default of ..." option if you want to use the SMTP server
– Clear the "Use the default of ..." option if you do not want to use the SMTP server
2. Enter the name for the sender in the "Name of sender" text box.
The computer name is a sensible sender name – see
"Entering the Mobile Panel computer name (Page 83)".
3. Enter the e-mail account for your e-mail in the "eMail address of sender" text box.
The "eMail address of sender" text box can remain empty if your e-mail provider lets you
send e-mails without checking the account.
