Automatically tuning the TV When you switch on the TV for the first time the Sony logo appears on the TV screen, followed by the Language/Country menu with the word ‘English’ highlighted. Press the V or v buttons on the remote control to highlight your required language. Press the OK button to confirm your choice. -

Text Most TV channels provide a Text service. Please ensure you are receiving a good signal or some Text errors may occur. Viewing Text Select the TV channel which carries the Text service you want to view. Press the MODE screen is divided in two with the Text display on the left and the TV channel in the right corner. -

Teletext menu The ‘Teletext’ menu gives you access to more Text features. Select the TV channel which carries the Text service you want to view. Press the MODE With Text displayed on the TV screen, press the MENU button to display the ‘Teletext’ menu on the TV screen. -

Multi Picture In Picture ( Multi PIP) This feature displays 13 different channels simultaneously on screen. From this display you can select which channel you wish to view. Screen Mode The pictures that the TV receives may be in one of several formats (e.g. conventional 4:3 format, 16:9 widescreen format). You can alter the TV screen mode manually to suit the broadcast you are watching*. Press the screen. Press the modes. -

Displaying and using NexTView Press the cases you may also need to press the B button to display the Sony electronic programme guide. Press the V,v, and b buttons to move the cursor around the screen. Using the TV menu system This TV contains a menu system which is based on a series of on screen displays. These displays help you get the most from your TV, from customising the picture and sound to accessing advanced features. -

Sound Adjustment menu This menu allows you to customise the sound. Highlight the required option and press b to select. The table below explains each option and how to use it. MODE Sound Effect This option allows you to select one of four sound modes. -

With the ‘AV Preset’ option highlighted, press b to enter the ‘AV Preset’ menu. Press v or V to highlight the socket you wish to name. Press b to select the AUTO FORMAT column.
