4. Start the engine, warm it up for several min-
utes, and then turn it off.
5. Check:
• coolant level

Before checking the coolant level, wait a few
minutes until it settles.

6. Install:
• top cover

CHECKING THE COOLING SYSTEM
1. Check:
• radiator 1
• radiator inlet hose 2
• radiator outlet hose 3
Cracks/damage → Replace.
Refer to "COOLING SYSTEM" in chapter 5.
2. Install:
• top cover

CHANGING THE COOLANT
1. Turn the coolant drain cock 1 to the "ON"
position 2.
2. Disconnect:
• coolant reservoir hose 1
3. Drain:
• coolant (from the coolant reservoir)
4. Remove:
• radiator cap 2
WARNING

A hot radiator is under pressure. Therefore,
do not remove the radiator cap when the
engine is hot. Scalding hot fluid and steam
may be blown out, which could cause seri-
ous injury. When the engine has cooled,
open the radiator cap as follows:
