Configuring drive-related I/Os (without symbolic
assignment)
A.1

Overview

The configuration of local measuring inputs is fundamentally different from the configuration
of global measuring inputs.
The assignment of the local measuring input is fixed relative to the hardware of the Control
Unit and is done on the drive side via the expert list of the drive and via the measuring input
number when configuring the Measuring Input TO.
Local and global measuring inputs have various properties. You can find detailed information
about the differences in section Local and global measuring inputs (Page 215).
Information on configuration can be found
● For global measuring inputs (with symbolic assignment) in section Configuring global
● For local measuring inputs in the appendix, there in the section Configuring local measuring

Local and global measuring inputs

Comparison of local and global measuring inputs
Depending on the used hardware platform, the following local and global measuring inputs are
available for the measuring tasks:
● Local measuring inputs are axis-related and implemented in the SINAMICS drive. The
● Global measuring inputs can be freely assigned to the axes and add an internal time stamp

The term "central measuring input" is also used within the context of drives.
