1 Before you begin

1.1 About this manual

This manual helps you configure, commission, use, maintain, and troubleshoot Micro Motion Model 5700
transmitters with Ethernet.
Important
This manual assumes that the following conditions apply:
• The transmitter has been installed correctly and completely according to the instructions in the
transmitter installation manual
• The installation complies with all applicable safety requirements
• The user is trained in government and corporate safety standards

1.2 Communication methods

You can use several different communications methods to interface with the transmitter. You may use
different methods in different locations or for different tasks.
