3. Measure:
9 Valve stem runout
Runout limit:
0.01 mm (0.0004 in)
Out of specifications → Replace.
TIP
The value is half of that indicated on the dial
gauge.
4. Measure:
9 Valve spring free length a
Valve spring free length:
27.4 mm (1.0787 in)
Limit: 24.4 mm (0.94 in)
Out of specifications → Replace.
5. Measure:
9 Valve spring tilt a
Tilt limit:
0.8 mm (0.03 in)
Out of specifications → Replace.
6. Inspect:
9 Valve spring contact surface a
More than 2/3 of the contact surface
does not contact → Replace.

ROCKER ARM INSPECTION

1. Inspect:
9 Rocker arm
Wear/damage/cracks → Replace.
