A
adaptor cable
Special Siemens adaptor cable used to connect the HOP E board to your PC. For the adap-
tor cable, the Siemens part number S30269-Z7303-A-1, and the model number is 40124.
auto attendant
A Hicom CS extension configured by the customer to manage incoming calls. Not each
customer establishes an auto attendant. See also human attendant .
B
base memory
Recording space residing in the HOP unit or HOP E board. Contrast with expansion mem-
ory .
C
connection file
A file containing application-specific configuration for HyperTerminal. Extension is "ht".
D
designated extension
An extension on your Hicom CS used for a remote upgrade data transfer. The extension is
designated by the system administrator and can be associated with the auto attendant or
a mailbox with call coverage. If the designated extension is associated with a mailbox, the
system administrator ensures that the upgrade call will not be answered by an employee.
After the data transfer, the extension is no longer designated and resumes its normal func-
tionality.

Recording space on an expansion card. Contrast with base memory .
