Adjusting the Back Focus

When the lens is attached for the first time, adjust
the back focus of the lens if the focus is not clear
when it is zoomed to the telephoto or wide-angle
end.
The Siemens Star Chart is most suitable as the

subject.

1 Place an object at approximately 3 m away
from the camera recorder.
2 Open up the iris.
3 Set the lens to the telephoto end.
4 Turn the focusing ring to adjust the focus.
5 Set the lens to the wide-angle end.
6 Loosen the F.B. locking screw of the lens
and turn the back focus adjustment ring to
adjust the focus.
7 Repeat the steps from 3 to 6 to adjust the
focus at both ends of the zoom.
8 After determining the position of the back
focus adjustment ring, tighten the F.B.
locking screw.
