2. Align the piston rings as shown.
CAUTION:
Be sure the ends of the oil ring expanders do
not overlap.
NOTE:
The manufacturer's marks or numbers stamped on
the rings should be on the top of the rings.
3. Liberally coat the pistons with oil, and install
the dowels and 0-ring onto the crankcase
as shown in the photograph.

4. Install the pipe joint bracket and new O-ring
to each cylinder. Torque the bolts to specifi-
cation.
NOTE:
The pipe joint bracket has an embossed number 1
or 2. The No. 1 bracket should be installed on the
front cylinder side, and the No. 2 on the rear.
When reusing the cylinders, note the marks which
were put on them in disassembly and install the
joint pipe brackets correctly.
Tightening torque:
10 Nm (1.0m-kg, 7.2ft-lb)
1. For front cylinder
5. Install a new cylinder base gasket to each
cylinder, and install a new O-ring around
each cylinder liner.
6. Install
the cylinders:
chain and the cam chain guide through the
cam chain journal in each cylinder. You do
not need piston ring compressors to install
the cylinders. This model has tapered cylin-
der liners. Simply compress the piston rings
with your fingers.
7. Insert the rear cam chain guides in each
cylinder. The lower end of each guide must
rest in the cam chain guide slots in the
crankcase.
