ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

NOTE: Turn off the switch and unplug the electrical
cord before routine maintenance. Never
operate the vacuum cleaner without the
top and bottom fi lters in place.
NOTE: When vacuuming carpet fresheners or
cleaners, powder, plaster dust, or similar
fi ne substances, the top and bottom fi lters
will require more frequent maintenance.
Removing the Dust Cup:
Remove dust cup by sliding
dust cup lever from right to
left.
Remove lid, and shake free
of debris.
R e p l a c e d u s t c u p l i d ,
reposition in cleaner body
and secure by moving lever
from left to right.
Grasp dust cup with both
hands and pull out.
Empty dust cup into bin.
Maintenance of Top Filter, Code EF87:
This new Electrolux Upright uses a cyclone system as a
primary fi lter and a secondary or top mounted fi lter that
has been moved outside of the dust cup. This makes
emptying the dirt cup much easier and less messy. It is
normal for this fi lter to trap fi ne particles, pet hair, and
carpet fi bres. It should be cleaned periodically depending
on vacuuming conditions. For optimum performance
replace it every 12 months.
NOTE: Use only GENUINE ELECTROLUX
replacement fi lters, Code EF87.
Remove top fi lter cover by
grasping right edge and
pivoting to the left.
Remove foam from fi lter
frame. Shake fi lter frame
and foam fi lter to remove
excess dust.
When dry, replace foam
fi lter into fi lter frame.
WARNING: Always check foam fi lter and frame
are correctly installed in the cover
before using vacuum.
Remove fi lter frame from top
fi lter cover.
If necessary, the fi lter frame
and foam fi lter can be rinsed
in luke warm water and
air dried. NOTE: The fi lter
frame, foam and cover are
not dishwasher safe.
Replace fi lter frame into top
fi lter cover. Replace top fi lter
cover by pivoting back onto
cleaner from left to right.
