  • Page 2 Use the treadmill only as described in this manual. Place on a level surface, with 6 feet (2 m) of clearance behind it. Do not place the treadmill on any surface that blocks air openings. To protect the floor or carpet from damage, place a mat under the treadmill.

Grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current, should the treadmill malfunction. This treadmill comes with an electrical cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug.

  • Page 17 SMOOTH 7.1HR POWER FOLDING TREADMILL FOLDING INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO FOLD UP YOUR 7.1HR TREADMILL: Press STOP on the console and wait until the belt has fully stopped. Press RESET on the console. This will ensure that the deck is in its lowest position and enable it to fold.
  • Page 18 SMOOTH 7.1HR POWER FOLDING TREADMILL UNFOLDING INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO UNFOLD YOUR 7.1HR TREADMILL: Before unfolding the 7.1HR plug the treadmill in and insert the SAFETY KEY and the console will light up. Push the POWER FOLD SWITCH “DOWN”. The deck will now start to DESCEND.
  • Page 19 TROUBLE SHOOTING page of this manual. Tip the 7.1HR to the left/right. You will then see the LEVEL ADJUSTERS. These will need to be screwed either in or out to level the treadmill. Repeat for the other side. It may help to use a spirit level when adjusting the level on your treadmill.
  • Page 20 SAFETY KEY: The safety key must be inserted into the slot on the console in order to operate the treadmill. Always insert the safety key and attach the clip to your clothing at your waist before beginning your workout. If you should encounter problems and need to stop the motor quickly, simply pull on the cord to disengage the safety key from the console.

Press INCLINE UP/DOWN to select MALE or FEMALE then press ENTER: LCD 2 will display a blinking default age of 20. Press INCLINE UP/DOWN to set your age then press ENTER to move onto the user height set up.

Press INCLINE UP/DOWN to adjust your safety heart rate based on your personal condition and doctor recommendation. Press ENTER to complete the set up then press START to proceed.
  • Page 24 SMOOTH 7.1HR POWER FOLDING TREADMILL COMPUTER OPERATION SPEED: This shows the starting speed for the first minute. 8 dots per line for the speed profile and 10 lines for each 10-minute speed profile. Each dot is equal to 1. 2m ph so, from 0.5-1.2mph speed one dot is displayed.
  • Page 25 START, LCD 2 will count down 3 seconds with one beep per second and then start. After the treadmill starts, the TIME will count down from the set up goal. The active dot will be blinking on LCD 2. When the designated amount of time passes the dot will then move from the left to the right hand side.

  • Page 27 SMOOTH 7.1HR POWER FOLDING TREADMILL COMPUTER OPERATION P8: HEART RATE CONTROL PROGRAM Under the SELECTING MODE press the INCLINE DOWN button to P8 then press ENTER. Select the USER using the SPEED UP/DOWN button. If you have not set up the user data yet, please do it now and follow the USER DATA SET UP procedure.
  • Page 28 SMOOTH 7.1HR POWER FOLDING TREADMILL COMPUTER OPERATION During the workout with the pulse sensor scanning, press the BODY FAT button and hold the pulse sensor for 8 seconds. While the computer is scanning and calculating the body fat you can see the light bar blinking on LCD 2.

If multiple repair attempts must be made for one reported problem, Smooth will only reimburse for one occurrence.

  • Page 33 SMOOTH 7.1HR POWER FOLDING TREADMILL TARGET HEART RATE Finding your pulse: To make sure your heart is beating in its target zone, you’ll need to know how to monitor your heart rate. The easiest way is to feel the pulse in the carotid artery on either side of your neck, between the windpipe and the large neck muscles. Count the number of beats in ten seconds, and then multiply that number by six.

  • Page 35 SMOOTH 7.1HR POWER FOLDING TREADMILL STRETCHING ROUTINE Warm up and cool down: A successful exercise program consists of a warm-up, aerobic exercise, and a cool-down. Do the entire program at least two and preferably three times a week, resting for a day between workouts. After several months, you can increase your workouts to four or five times per week.
  • Page 36 SMOOTH 7.1HR POWER FOLDING TREADMILL STRETCHING ROUTINE Hamstring Stretch: Sit with your right leg extended. Rest the sole of your left foot against your right inner thigh. Stretch toward your toe as far as possible. Hold for 15 counts. Relax and then repeat with left leg extended.
  • Page 37 Then lift the treadmill frame from the rear end slightly and check if the spring load knob can be locked in. If you can lock in the spring load knob, then your treadmill is not on a level surface. Please check if both rear wheels are sitting on the floor evenly, or follow the Level Adjustment Instructions in this manual to adjust the level adjusters underneath the base frame until both rear wheels sit evenly on the floor and the spring knob can be locked in.
