My oven switches off randomly and will not switch back on until it has cooled down. Also the ignition for the burners don’t work and the display is off. I have had an electrician check the connection and there is power at the switch on the wall but no power at the oven. This only happens when the oven is hot.

The Smeg SSA91MFA oven may switch off randomly and not turn back on until it cools down due to overheating, which could trigger a safety mechanism. Possible causes include:
1. Overheating Protection – The oven may have an automatic shutdown feature to prevent excessive temperatures. Ensuring proper ventilation and avoiding blockage of air circulation can help. 2. Electronic Programmer Issues – If the display is non-functional, there may be a fault in the electronic controls, possibly due to power surges or internal component failure. 3. Thermocouple Activation – If burners have ignition issues, the thermocouple may not be heating properly, cutting off the gas supply for safety. Holding the knob longer during ignition may help. 4. Power Supply Problems – A faulty power connection or internal wiring issue could cause the oven and display to turn off unexpectedly.
Checking ventilation, resetting the oven, and inspecting power connections may help diagnose the issue. If problems persist, professional service is recommended.
