3-2-3. Procedures for when update is interrupted

This section describes the steps for recovery to be executed upon interruption of firmware update due to unexpected
occurrences (including power OFF and readout errors for USB memories), and is applicable to both USB-based
updates and those involving the "Firmware Update Tool".
3-2-3-1. Procedures for when update is interrupted
The required steps differ depending on the circumstances under which the update was interrupted. The situation must
first be confirmed.
Power ON the printer. Upon powering the printer:
Message data error (error code 4200, 4201, 4202)
Test print data error (error code 4400, 4401, 4402)
Maintenance PCB version error (error code 5260)
signifies the completion of the update for the main program. In this situation, refer to procedures specified for "3-2-3-2.

Resuming update for firmware other than the main program".

The update of the main program has failed in the event the following is displayed upon power ON. In this situation, refer
to procedures specified for "3-2-3-3. Update using the boot system program".
ERROR
I failed in initialization.
Turn OFF and ON
3-2-3-2. Resuming update for firmware other than the main program
If the main program is capable of normal operation after the update, resume update using either the "Firmware Update
Tool" or the USB memory. Update of the firmware other than the main program is re-initiated.
Power ON printer after the completion of the update. Recovery is completed if no error is indicated.
