CARD NEST AND SIGNAL-NAMING CONVENTIONS
We proceed to describe the system hardware in sufficient
detail
t~
enable the user to add memory modules to the
basic Microkit, to add input/output interfaces to the
kit, and to perform troubleshooting.
A functional des-
cription of each supplied module has already been given.
We will now explain how the modules are interconnected,
how they interact, and how to add to the system.
The backplane of the Card Nest is a double sided PC board,
mounted in the back of the Microkit,which interconnects
the pins of 21 of the 34 available connectors.
Eleven
of the 21 wired connectors are occupied by the basic
Microkit card set.
The card positions, viewed from the back and numbered
left to right, are
