For those who want to surf the Internet in the most secure way, this router provides a convenient and powerful solution.

  • Page 18 NTRODUCTION • Virtual Private Network (VPN) The Barricade supports three of the most commonly used VPN protocols — PPTP, L2TP, and IPSec. These protocols allow remote users to establish a secure connection to their corporate network. If your service provider supports VPNs, then these protocols can be used to create an authenticated and encrypted tunnel for passing secure data over the Internet (i.e., a traditionally shared data network).

    HAPTER ONFIGURING THE ARRICADE After you have configured TCP/IP on a client computer, you can configure the Barricade using Internet Explorer 5.0 or above. To access the Barricade’s management interface, enter the default IP address of the Barricade in your web browser: http://192.168.2.1. Enter the default password: “smcadmin”, and click “LOGIN”.
