AED Mode User Messages
AED Mode guides you through the defibrillation process. Depending upon the given situation,
voice prompts and display messages are presented to assist you in using the mode. See Tables 9-16.

Using AED Mode to Defibrillate
Condition
The Therapy cable is not
connected to the Efficia
DFM100.
A paddles cable is attached
to the Efficia DFM100.
Condition
The current AED Mode
patient category is Adult.
The current AED Mode
patient category is
Infant/Child.
The Efficia DFM100
battery charge level is low.
Condition
ECG analysis is underway.
ECG analysis has
determined the rhythm is
not shockable.
User Action
Securely connect the
Therapy cable to the
device.
Disconnect the
paddles cable and
attach the pads
Therapy cable.
User Action
None
None
Charge the battery or
replace it with a
charged battery.
User Action
Do not touch the
patient.
Attend to the patient.
Begin CPR if
indicated.
