Recording Motion Picture/4K Motion
Picture
Applicable modes:
This camera can record full high definition motion pictures compatible with the
AVCHD format or motion pictures recorded in MP4.
In addition, the camera can record 4K motion pictures in MP4.
Audio will be recorded in stereo.
• You can record motion pictures by manually setting the aperture value and shutter
speed. (P35, 36)
• In Intelligent Auto Mode, the camera automatically sets the aperture value and shutter
speed and detects the scene to record motion pictures. (P33)

Start recording by pressing the motion
picture button.

• The recording state indicator (red) C will flash
while recording motion pictures.
• Release the motion picture button right after you
press it.
• Still picture recording is also possible during the
motion picture recording by fully pressing the
shutter button.

Stop the recording by pressing the
motion picture button again.
∫ When recording 4K motion pictures
• When recording motion pictures in 4K, use a card rated as UHS Speed Class 3.
• When recording motion pictures in 4K, the angle of view will be narrower than motion
pictures of other sizes.
• To ensure highly accurate focus, 4K motion pictures are recorded at reduced Auto
Focus speeds. It may be difficult to focus on the subject with Auto Focus, but this is not
a malfunction.

With recording in a quiet environment, the sound of aperture and focus may be
recorded in motion pictures. This is not a malfunction. The focus operation during
recording of motion pictures can be set to [OFF] in [Continuous AF].

When the ambient temperature is high or motion picture is recorded continuously, after
[
] is displayed, recording may stop to protect the camera. Wait until the camera
cools down.
