Bewator 81733-2 Installation Note

General

The BC-6 is a Magnetic Stripe Card-only Reader for use with Bewator Entro and Entro Lite Door Controllers.
The BC-6 can be mounted externally or internally, if mounted externally the use of the SH-2 Rain Hood
is advised. All other information regarding installation and programming can be found in the manual
supplied with the relevant Door Controller.
The BC-6 is supplied complete with 5 meters of cable. When extending this cable, always use a
screened multicore cable i.e. BELDEN 9540 0 core screen. If only one Reader is required at the door,
then the BC-6 can be connected directly to the Door Controller. In this configuration the Reader can be
connected up to a maximum of 50 meters from the Door Controller.
If two Readers are required at the door or distances of up to 00 meters from the Reader to the Door
Controller are needed, then a Bewator Multibox must be used.

Wiring Notes.

The screen(s) from the BC-6 should be terminated in the controller housing to mains earth (Earth Node).
When installing the cable(s) from the BC-6 care should be taken to avoid location near sources of
electrical noise such as motors, generators, pumps, mains cabling and computer installations.

Mounting the reader BC-16

. Install the BC-6 at a height of approximately 40 – 50cm (from the floor to the bottom edge of the
Reader). To adapt the installation to suite disabled access, a suitable height is approximately 00cm.
Use the template supplied to fix the screws into the wall and drill the cable hole.
2. Insert the screws until the heads are clear of the wall by the thickness of the back plate
3. Hook the BC-6 on to the screws and lock in position using the screw on the bottom of the unit
4. If the BC-6 is mounted on an earthed surface, do not connect the cable screen.
5. If the wall is uneven, a mounting plate is available as an optional extra.
